Carol is truly a unique pony — the kind that catches your eye with her gorgeous dapple gray coat, then keeps your attention with movement as elegant as an Andalusian. This little mare is as versatile as they come. Whether you’re moving cows, tackling the trails, running barrels, or roping something that wiggles, Carol is always ready for the next adventure.
She’s been one of our barn favorites, and it’s easy to see why. Carol is loyal, wants to please, and flat-out loves to go fast. She’s naturally athletic and well on her way to winning some belt buckles in barrels or poles. She enjoys playdays, takes her job seriously, and gives her whole heart to her rider.
All of our kids, ages 5 to 10, enjoy riding her. My 5-year-old even gallops her in the round pen working on her seat. But because she is fast, tuned, and very responsive, an intermediate rider is the best match — she’s a fantastic step-up pony for a kid ready to level up.
Carol has done goat tying, is coming along nicely with her roping, and has all the makings of a solid little rope pony if that’s the direction you want to take her.
On the trail, she’s no stranger to anything — climbs, crosses, and handles whatever you put in front of her. She loves winding trails at a fast clip but will go slow and easy when asked. She’s even competed in trail competitions and brought home wins.
Her movement is stunning — smooth, fancy, and eye-catching — making her an excellent candidate for western pleasure as well.
Carol is good in a stall or corral, loads and saddles easily, stands great for trimming, and is simple to catch and haul. She’s the kind of pony that makes life easy around the barn.
