JMS Chips Ahoy is a 2019 color registered ApHC bay gelding that stands a perfect 14.2 hands and is the cutest, kindest, most genuine little horse you can find! There is no shortage of spots on this boy and he will for sure get you noticed no matter where you take him! He’s truly the type of horse that becomes your heart horse overnight. He’s a personal and barn favorite; there will for sure be some tears shed when he leaves the driveway. He has great legs, good feet and a big soft eye.
Chips has been used to do everything! From trails, jumping, a Sonic run or a coffee run. He loves working the sale barn and he’s tackled ANY type of shenanigan we can think of. These shenanigans include riding backwards, pulling hay rings around the pastures and inventing new party tricks; like sitting like a dog! He is hands down the most trainable and hardest trying horse we’ve had the pleasure of owning! There isn’t anything you can’t teach this boy when he’s given the chance.
Chips has quite the resume under his belt! He’s worked at the sale barn penning back cattle, both feeders and big cows. Chips has even been known to pen his little ears and turn one around in the alley! He may be smaller in size, but his heart and determination has no limit! There isn’t a gate that can’t be opened on Chips. He side passes, backs and does forehand and haunch turns with ease. Chips also has a big stop – just sit down and say whoa! He has smooth easy gates and both of his leads down pat. Chips has been rode under English and done some small jumps(18inches) and acted like a seasoned pro.
Chips is extremely easy to catch, great with his feet, saddle, lead, load, bridle, bathe, vacuum and is great for the vet. Chips will load in any type of trailer and will back out or turn around, just give him the word. I don’t know if there are enough words to discuss the party tricks that Chip’s knows! He will pull logs, pull a hay feeder, drag a 20 X 40 tarp, pack a flag, lay down, sit down, be blown off by the leaf blower, push the yoga ball, or ridden backwards.
Chips crosses logs, water, brush, bridges and ditches easily. It doesn’t matter how much or how little you ride Chips, he is the same everyday. He’s happy to see you in any type of weather too! He loves people and likes to be involved in everything you’re doing. Chips is color registered with the Appaloosa Horse Club which makes him eligible for the Chief Joseph Trail Ride, breed shows and year end awards!
