Rose – Quiet, kind and extremely patient!
2023 Pangaré Bay Gypsy x Haflinger Mare | 14.1hh | Rides • Ground Drives • Family Safe
Rose is a 3-year-old Gypsy Haflinger cross mare standing approximately 14.1 hands tall. She is a pangaré bay with a star and small snip and has an abundance of hair, along with a sturdy, eye-catching build. She has a kind expression and an exceptionally quiet, good-minded temperament that is equally forgiving as well as trainable.
Rose was started under saddle in October and has been very easy-going and uncomplicated throughout her training. Due to my schooling and Minnesota weather, she has proven over and over again that she does not require daily training sessions to retain what she has learned. She learns quickly and you can pick up where you last left off. She is quiet under saddle and rides well both alone and in a group. She has naturally more woah than go and is not hot or reactive. She will walk, trot, lope, stop, back and turn when asked, but she’s not in a hurry! She is confident in new environments, is not spooky, and goes out calmly and willingly on the trail. She is traffic safe and handles vehicles, noise, and unexpected activity without issue, making her comfortable to ride in a wide variety of settings. She’s accustomed to being rode bareback and is happy to be out with her person.
Rose is extremely quiet and very safe to handle by anyone. She loves to be loved and she loves to share her love! She has excellent ground manners allowing all ages to handle her, a willing attitude, and is easy to be around both in and out of the barn. One of her standout qualities is how well she handles time off. She is the same horse whether she has been ridden consistently or has had time off. She does not require constant riding to stay quiet and dependable.
Rose is also broke to drive. While she has not been hitched to a cart (we currently don’t have a cart to fit her), she has been safely hitched to both a work sled and a winter sled and handled each situation calmly and correctly. She was put to work this fall, clearing the fallen corn from the field, and she remained patient, respectful and calm, even with extremely high winds. When it comes to snow season, she is a blast to ride behind in the sled!
With her exceptional temperament, straightforward nature, and solid start, Rose would make an excellent youth, 4-H project or a first-time trainer prospect. She is forgiving, sensible, and willing, making her a pleasure to bring along.
Rose is a special young mare with an outstanding brain, excellent versatility, and a calm, steady nature. She is straightforward, comfortable to ride, and easy to enjoy, with the temperament and ability to continue excelling in many directions as she matures.
