Ben was purchased as a weanling in the fall of 2022 with the intention of being my next Reined Cowhorse prospect. For the past year, he’s been handled extensively. He will stall overnight in a box stall or tie stall. Ben ties like a champ, stands for the farrier, clips, bathes and trailers. I’ve previously completed the AQHA Youth Ranching Heritage Program (I am currently 15) with a different colt, and I put Ben through the same training process. That means he does basic in-hand trail, is desensitized, extremely easy to catch, and is use to regular short training sessions. We tie him in the ‘line-up’ with our riding horses to get him used to waiting his turn. He does not paw or get impatient. He is not dull and is quick on his feet, easy to train and wants to please. Ben is a quick learner and extremely lovable. He has LOADS of mane and tail and adores being groomed. He will turn out with mares or geldings and is typically at the bottom, though smart enough to stay out of the way and doesn’t get beat up.
