THE BEST RODEO pony that has ever been in Statler’s program! Statler has owned Hooey since he was a 2 year old. Hooey and Statler have been anywhere and every where you could imagine!If you want to raise little cowboys and cowgirls, Hooey is the pony to do it. Hooey is a perfect 47 inches (11.3 hands), the ideal age of 5 with all his life ahead of him and has all the looks, plus he rides and drives just like a big horse! Hooey can do it ALL: team roping, breakaway, goat tying, western, 4H, barrels, flags, trails, hunting, lead a pack string, ranch roped, gathered and sorted, drives single or double, obstacles, swims.
Hooey is a pony that will take your kids to the top, while keeping them 100% safe! He does NOT think he is a pony… Hooey acts & rides like a big horse would. It ain’t the years it’s the miles, and this boy has them! From the mountains to the arena, he is absolutely ONE HAND BROKE. Great stop, back up, side pass, short lope, the list goes on! Built correct, perfect size & as pretty as you have ever seen a pony! No kicking & pulling needed here! He is light, correct and will do anything you ask of him. Hooey has been in and out of the arena. He’s seen the big lights from Junior rodeos to PRCA rodeos and he carries flags too! He looks great on a cart by himself and he even has pulled a wagon for weddings. Currently, Hooey is winning the UVJRA 10-13 year old heeling with a 10 year old riding him.
Hooey has been used competitively at all levels. If asked, he can run the barrels & poles. But where he really excels is in the roping arena. This guy will give your kiddo a shot every time. He has been hauled and entered in youth rodeos and play-days. He is very finished in all the roping events, he will wear out a pen of jersey calves and a heel-o-matic but is just as solid and sane out on the trails. He’s been hunted on lead a pack string out on the mountain. The greatest thing he has achieved is made my cowboys who they are today, while keeping them safe.
This pony crosses water, tarps, logs, teeter totter, tires and rides or drives in town through loud traffic. Gun shots, trains and more! He has NEVER been fresh, bucked, bit or kicked while in my possession! He’s been Statler’s main pony for the last two year. This little boy has put his whole heart and soul into making Hooey a top notch all around pony. While he’s sad to see him go, he’s proud of the work he’s done. He’s made sure Hooey works cattle is great around dogs, goats, pigs, vehicles and any chaos a kid may put him through! Put him in a pasture or a stall and he gets along great with other horses. He is NOT at all buddy sour or barn sour. He’ll load, tie and bathe like a champ. Your Farrier will love him with his solid big feet. Hooey is SOUND & clean with no visible bumps or blemishes.
