RS Roosters Gunner, aka RIO – Cow Smart, Quick Footed, Built to Work

5 Year Old Chocolate Palomino AQHA Gelding | 14.2hh | Ranch • Cow Work • Versatility

Rio is the kind of gelding that brings together ability, grit, and a willing mind. He is the type that is getting harder to find, a true using horse with the tools to go multiple directions.

He has been used in real ranch work and carries a solid, honest foundation. Rio has dragged calves, doctored cattle in the pasture, and been exposed to ranch horse versatility work. He shows up consistent, level headed, and ready to do his job every time.

What really makes Rio stand out is the way he travels and handles a cow. He is quick footed, catty, and responsive, staying athletic underneath you with the ability to match a cow and stay with it. He rides forward with purpose while staying gentle in his mind, always trying to understand and give his rider his full effort.

Rio is not a dull ride. He is engaged, thinking, and responsive, making him best suited for an intermediate to experienced rider who will appreciate feel and timing.

In new environments he can be a bit watchy at times, but this comes from awareness, not resistance. He stays honest, manageable, and never gets himself into trouble.

His pedigree backs up his ability. He is by a son of Pale Face Dunnit, bringing quickness and a strong stop, with Gallo Del Cielo influence adding cow sense and footwork. On the bottom side he traces to Bugs Moon Gold, carrying Three Bars blood that shows in his athleticism and forward motion.

Rio has been lightly shown and made a strong impression, showing major potential in both cow work and reining. With more hauling and exposure, he has all the pieces to be a serious contender in the versatility pen or continue on as a top end ranch horse.
