JHM The Long Con “Neal” – Ranch-Raised, Ready to Work
4-Year-Old AQHA Gray Gelding | 14.2 hh | Rope & Ranch | Trails, Day Work, Camping
“Neal” is a 4-year-old gray AQHA gelding standing 14.2 hands, ranch bred and raised with purpose and proven bloodlines. Sired by JHM Continual Soiree (a Play Per View son by Playgun) and out of a Hickoryote Annie mare (by Hickoryote, son of Doc’s Hickory), this gelding carries the kind of foundation genetics that are getting harder to come by — and he’s living up to them.
Neal has been used consistently on the ranch and day working for neighboring outfits. He sorts, pushes cattle, drags calves, and has some pasture roping under his belt. He’s been hauled to different arenas and events, where he’s handled overnight stalls and new environments like a seasoned veteran. Despite his laid-back nature, he may get a little fresh after extended time off — but a quick lunge is all it takes for him to settle in and ride off quietly.
He’s also been hauled to the mountains in New Mexico for camping and trail riding, where he handled the terrain and experience like a horse twice his age. Neal is versatile, smart, and has the kind of foundation to go in multiple directions. With continued time and training, he has the potential to make a handy using horse, solid trail partner, or even a nice head or heel horse prospect.
