Rainbows Sisco Frost (Jethro)

Rainbows Sisco Frost, aka Jethro, is a stunning 15 hand, 7 year old, AQHA gelding by Rainbow Gentleman (Rainbow Roster) and out of Miss Sisco Frost (Mr Doc Sisco). Jethro is extremely gentle, kind, safe, sound and one that the whole family can enjoy. He is well trained, rides around one handed, has a beautiful turn-around and will side pass as far as you want to go. Jethro walks, trots and lopes with ease – picking up correct leads from a walk or trot. He stops with a soft whoa and sitting down with your seat. This boy rides around bridleless as good as he does with a bridle!

Jethro is one that can be ridden in or out of the arena and is the same every time. Let him sit for months and you’ll have the same horse when you come back. He has a fantastic ground covering walk, but is content in the front, back or middle on the trails. He crosses whatever you point him at: bridges, tarps, water, teeter totter, logs. Loud noises, screaming kids, barking dogs or machinery; none of it bothers him a bit. He is truly safe for anyone to ride, from the least experienced 4 year old to the more experienced 78 year old. Put someone on him that knows how to ride and he’ll wow you with his training. Put someone new on him and he’ll wow them with the ease of riding. You can carry a flag, shoot a gun, crack a whip, pull a kiddo and pup in a wagon – he doesn’t hesitate a bit!

Jethro doesn’t mind being alone, travels in the trailer alone, stall him in the barn alone or take him down the trail alone – you won’t hear a peep out of him. He is by far the easiest horse to catch, he’ll come right to you every time! He adores being brushed, snuggled, bathed, clipped – he just loves being handled. He’ll stand for the farrier, vet, saddling, be tied for hours and he’ll load and back out of a trailer every time. He tends to be on the bottom of the pecking order in the herd, but have no fear, he’s an easy keeper! He doesn’t require grain or anything special, he’ll stay a healthy weight on air.

Jethro was previously used on a ranch in South Dakota and was started in the Team Roping. He has mainly been used for the trails the past 2 years, though we recently sorted some cattle on him and you can see it is something he enjoys. Jethro’s sire has a few NRHA points, several AQHA points and has some earnings in the Team Roping and well. His dam comes from a long line of barrel racers. This big, beautiful boy is well trained enough to be competitive in the Ranch Versatility, be a stellar rope horse or simply have the best trained trail horse in the campground. We can assure you, you will NOT be disappointed in owning Jethro.

Jethro was purchased two years ago at the Iowa Five Star Select Gelding Sale by his current owners, who are 78 years old. He was purchased, with the owners hope, to have friends and grandkids come out to ride. Unfortunately, the grandkids haven’t shown the interest nor do their friends. He is simply too nice of a gelding to sit around for the occasional ride. He’s recently had a 30 day tune-up and never missed a beat! He’s just as broke as he was when he was purchased.
