PR’s Lady’s Man – Barbie’s Dream Horse
4-Year-Old MFT Palomino Gelding | 14.2+hh | Ranch & Trails | Buttons & Beauty

PR’s Lady’s Man, affectionately called Ken, is a standout registered Missouri Fox Trotter palomino gelding by Sunrise’s Pale Rider. Sunrise’s Pale Rider is well known for siring offspring with excellent dispositions and successful show careers across Model, Performance, and Versatility events within the MFTHBA. He is by Hall of Fame stallion Southern Sunrise, a legendary sire celebrated for passing on outstanding temperaments, versatility, and the ability to excel both in the arena and on the trail. On the bottom side, Ken is out of Rambler’s Lady Jane by Missouri’s Rambler E, adding even more depth of proven breeding and balance to his pedigree. Ken is the kind of gelding that offers the best of both worlds.

If Barbie’s dream horse came to life, it would be Ken — a stunning 4-year-old golden palomino MFT gelding, with a flowing blonde mane and tail that turns heads everywhere he goes. His blonde locks and shiny dapples catch the sunlight, making him sparkle like the diamond he is. If you’re a gal, you’ll look like the star of a Barbie movie riding him. If you’re a guy, well… good luck keeping the ladies from noticing. You’ll feel like you’re the star of a western film.

But Ken is more than just eye candy — he’s the whole package. He has been carefully handled since we brought him home as a yearling and was started lightly the fall of his two-year-old year. He is quiet, curious, and willing, with a gentle, confident demeanor that makes him an ideal partner for riders of all ages and experience levels. He’s never offered to buck and stays calm in sticky situations. Men, women, youth, and inexperienced riders have all enjoyed time in the saddle on him, and he rises to the occasion every time.

Ken rides confidently in the arena, across open fields, through pastures moving cattle, up steep hills and across deep water. He is willing, athletic, and sure-footed, taking new experiences in stride without getting anxious or frazzled. He is smooth in all four gaits — walk, trot, gait, and lope — and responds to leg and rein cues. Ride him with a soft two-handed direct rein or guide him with the ease of a neck rein. He side passes, opens and closes gates, carries flags, handle a rope, drags objects, packs saddle bags, and can be ridden in either a bridle or halter. He has all the perks of a gaited horse with the buttons and grit of a trusty Quarter Horse, making him versatile enough for any job while still comfortable and smooth to ride.

Ken is a dependable partner for most any level of rider. He rides out alone or with a group and is confident either way. His calm, flowing stride is a joy to ride – and he’ll make sure you’re never late for dinner. He’ll out walk most anything if you let him, though he’s perfectly content hanging out at pony speed and taking in the views. Ken side passes over to whatever you’d like for mounting — log, hay wagon, fence, mounting block – you name it. When you stop to rest, you can tie him to a tree or hobble him; he’s good either way.

On the ground, Ken is just as reliable. He’ll be the first to greet you at the gate — even when it’s not dinner time. He ponies other horses, donkeys, and ponies without fuss. He’s happy to give children rides or stand for hours while being groomed and fussed over. He stands tied or in cross ties, and is calm and cooperative for farrier, vet, worming, bathing, and grooming. He trailers like the movie star he is, loading and unloading in any type of trailer. Ken is the kind you can ride every day or give him several months off; he’ll be just the same when you climb back on. He is sound, barefoot, free of injuries or blemishes, and an easy keeper (and keeps his stall nice and tidy).

Riding Ken is more than just a ride; it’s an experience. Whether you’re a woman looking for a partner who makes every ride feel effortless, or a man who wants a confident, eye-catching horse that turns heads and gets the job done, Ken delivers. He is the kind of horse that makes you feel like you’ve found the one — a true dream horse, ready to be your partner on the ranch, in the arena, or anywhere adventure calls.
